About Me

Welcome to Alpine Tested — your trusted resource for honest, real-world outdoor gear reviews.

My name is Kira, and I’m a climbing, hiking, and backpacking enthusiast based out of Northern CA. I’m also a gearhead who likes to nerd out on the stats and performance of specific technical apparel and kit.

My Commitment to Editorial Integrity

I never compromise on honesty or transparency. Every review you read here is the result of rigorous, real field testing, and the personal opinions I express are my own. Each product I review is something I personally purchased and have firsthand experience using.

Why I Started This Blog

I started Alpine Tested as a personal blog because I care deeply about the decisions I make when I purchase gear.

I look into specs, compare multiple products, and review a ton of individual and community opinions on a product before hitting that “buy” button. So I decided to begin writing reviews based on my personal experience with climbing and outdoor products out there. My goal is to add more long-form, in-depth opinions to the conversation, especially for women’s specific fits and gear, where I’ve found a true lack of firsthand testing and critical reviews.

Along the way, I’ll add in other topics and I encounter areas where I’ve struggled to find valuable information as I navigate the world of climbing and outdoor adventure.

Thank you for visiting, and I look forward to helping you gear up for your next outdoor adventure!
